Camp Winnebago is looking for mature and enthusiastic camp counselors.  All of our staff members have already completed at least one year of college and are at least 19 years old.  Because camp is a fluid and a fast-paced environment, we are looking for flexible people who are leaders and role models. A good candidate must have skills in one or more of the following:


Counselor Guidelines & Curriculum

Arts & Crafts: General arts and crafts, ceramics, pottery wheel, kiln, painting, drawing, and sketching.

Woodworking: Help campers create a broad range of wood projects.

Drama/Theatre: Musical productions, assistant directors, piano accompaniment, stage craft, set design, costume design, and improvisation.

Landsports: Basketball, lacrosse, soccer, softball, baseball, team handball, street hockey, volleyball, archery, and riflery.

Office: Excellent written, verbal and phone communication skills.

Outdoor Adventure: Campcraft, canoeing, kayaking, backpacking, hiking, and overnight wilderness trips.

Photography: Traditional 35 mm cameras.  Work in a dark room and use digital cameras as well.

Ropes: Low and high elements, belaying, and team building.

Sailing and Small Watercrafts: Sailing (Sunfish, Lasers), kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, and waterskiing.

Swimming: Beginner through competitive instruction, water polo, diving, and lifeguarding.

Tennis: Beginner through advanced (USTA) instruction. We have seven (7) beautiful Har-Tru courts.

Video: Making Movies.  Digital video filming and editing.

Radio: Manage a radio station, WINN 1620 AM.

Newspaper: Work on a camp newspaper (The W.A.G) that is published at least twice/week.

Water Ski: Boat driving. Two ski, slalom, wakeboard and tubing.

Nature: Work at a nature center.  Organize field trips, set up terrariums and aquariums, enjoy great fishing on the lake.
