Every Day at Winnebago is Packed with Fun
At Winnebago, we are experts in using fun to teach skills, effort and achievement. Our program combines freedom of choice — and a resulting sense of independence within the structure of a balanced and coordinated schedule. Every 10 days, campers choose selected activities such as woodworking, archery, sailing, newspaper, farming, video making (and many more!). These personal choice times are melded with a swimming and athletic program that together create a dynamic experiential program designed to both inspire and challenge campers to develop new skills and personal growth.
What You Can Expect
A Winnebago summer is not just about being at camp. Maine is at your fingertips and through our overnight camping wilderness experiences program campers intrepidly and safely explore mountains, canoe rivers and come face to face with wildlife. Current campers and alumni alike reminisce about their experiences amidst the profound beauty and ruggedness of the Maine wilderness with stories of adventure and wonder. Additionally, once a week we leave camp on day trips to explore more of Maine’s offerings like Reid State Park, whitewater rafting, or the beauty of the Pemaquid Lighthouse and its environs followed by a delicious meal at a local lobster pound.
Here is our typical day schedule — check out Choose Your Adventure to learn more about what excites you in our program!
"After seven, maybe eight summers on the shores of Echo Lake, is that all there is? Does it end there? For many, the answer is a resounding no. Winnebago stays in campers’ lives, deepening the memories and impacting their thoughts, values, and friendships. It becomes a very part of the fiber of their beings."
